Self Quest: What does inner peace look like for you?
Let’s talk about inner peace.
Do you feel like you have it? That deep sense of calm where your nervous system can relax, your body can soften, and your mind can simply let go—allowing you to settle into a state of trust and peace?
Or do you find that…
There’s always something nagging at you?
Your mind is constantly racing?
True relaxation and peace feel out of reach?
I’ll be honest—this winter, my relationship with inner peace has been a bit on-and-off. It’s not always easy to juggle a busy, eventful life in today’s climate AND maintain a steady, well-nourished sense of peace to retreat to.
There are nights when I fall into bed exhausted, replaying what I should have done, should have said, or what still needs my attention. Life can feel like a lot sometimes.
And yet, I know my inner peace is essential—not just for my well-being, but also for those around me. As a mom, I set the emotional tone for my family, and my own peace becomes the foundation for my kids' inner peace.
So, how do I nurture it? Here are a few things that I’ve found very helpful:
Writing & Journaling – Even this moment, writing to you, is a way I nourish my inner peace.
Authentic Connection – Spending time with people I love, in full authenticity, fills my cup.
Quiet Moments – Whether it's meditation or simply driving in silence, having space free of external input is crucial.
Surrounding Myself with Beauty – As a creative person, my environment impacts me deeply. When I make my home beautiful (hello fresh flowers & art :)), I feel more grounded and optimistic.
Kind Self-Talk – You can't cultivate inner peace with a critical inner voice. Pay attention to how you speak to yourself—you are always listening.
What about you?
How do you nurture your inner peace?
Or, is it something you’re still searching for?
With love,
Caroline
