Refreshing your SPACES as a way to MANIFEST what you want
For almost as long as I can remember, I have felt these urges to change my surroundings and thereby, shift the energy that my life is embedded in.
When I was around 10 or 11 years old, it started… my parents would come into my room in the morning and not recognize the place (this has since become a family joke, obviously;)).
I had these sudden urges to move all my furniture around until deep into the night… pushing my bed to a different end of the room, moving my desk to a new location at a different angle, changing what was on the walls, even pulling down my curtains and buying white sheets, dying them, painting interesting shapes on them and ta-da… I had new curtains.
It gave me such visceral joy to change my surroundings and experience the thrill of creating a new space. Afterwards, not only did my space feel refreshed, but so did I.
I was told that my grandfather was the same… constantly moving furniture around and feeling restless until it was perfect and his eye for esthetics felt completely pleased.
This urge, this desire to change my surroundings –to use the POWER OF SPACES to SHIFT THE ENERGY– has accompanied me my whole life.
Things like this happen all the time:
I walk into a space –someone’s home, my kids’ school, a random store– and I wish I could move a chair or paint a closet or switch out a rug because I just know the energy would be so much better… more open, more receptive, more harmonious if certain, subtle changes were made.
I can just feel it.
When we came home from our Europe trip last week, I intensely felt this exact desire rise up in me right when I walked into our home… yes, even after a 20 hour trip from Sweden back to the US, the urge was there… alive and un-ignorable lol 😁
I walked in and somehow the way the couch was standing, the way the playroom was organized, the color of the pillows, the rug under the dining table… it didn’t feel right anymore.
It wasn’t that it was messy… not at all, but it simply felt no longer aligned.
The best way I can explain it is that the way our home looked and felt had served its purpose and it was time to invite in some new energy, a refreshed vibe, updated inspiration and wide openness.
What I know by now is that when I feel this desire to change things in my home, I also feel the desire for change things internally.
It was time to create a portal for a new chapter to come into our life.
You see, I think one of the most powerful and fun ways to manifest something new is by bringing your surroundings –your spaces, the way you show up, dress, and carry yourself– into alignment with what you want going forward.
If those outer things are working for you already, you basically create a magnet for your inner world, other people, and opportunities to follow along and meet you there.
Here is what I know to be true:
Spaces are incredibly powerful. Think about how different you can feel in one space versus another.
I bet you know what I am talking about!
I bet you’ve been to a space where…
⟶ your nervous system instantly calms down and you can breathe a little easier
⟶ or, you feel instantly uplifted, inspired and curious
⟶ or, you just have this subtle desire to stay and expand
Alternatively, we’ve all been in places where there is technically nothing wrong, but you just don’t feel good. You feel on edge, irritated, tight, on guard and like you just want to get out.
Spaces carry so much power because they affect us on an unconscious level ALL the time.
In my opinion, adjusting your space is a beautiful, powerful, and fun practice that helps you to set up the foundation of your life so that you can thrive, so that you can call in and manifest and create all that you want.
Your SPACES play an incredibly important role in whatever journey you are on… whether you are on a healing journey, a journey towards creating a successful, thriving career, or are simply wanting to raise a harmonious, connected family with positive relationships.
The SPACES you spend time in matter so much.
In fact, I’d love to hear from you:
Have you experimented with your spaces?
Do you believe that your spaces hold power?
Have you used the power of your space –your home– to manifest what you want in your life?
Tell me everything :)
With love as always.
Caroline
PS: this does not have to be an expensive venture. I donated/ got rid of a few things I genuinely didn’t like anymore (+ I did clean out a lot of toys my kids had outgrown, because wow! this stuff accumulates), but I barely bought anything new. What I am suggesting here is that you pay attention to your spaces, to be aware and mindful and to change things around that you already have so you can bring in new life, new energy that is in alignment with the life you want to create ;)
PPS: I interviewed Alejandra Brady, feng shui expert, on the JOY CLASS PODCAST a few months ago and we talked about specific things you can do to upgrade the energy in your home using feng shui. I loved this episode- check it out here.
