The thing about joy 🌻 ... and where I've been all summer

I hope this email finds you well. It’s been a moment since I’ve written to you.

To be honest, I occasionally feel the need to withdraw and get quiet in my life. It seems to be the best (or only?) way for me to hear my own thoughts clearly and to come back to a baseline that feels aligned with who I am becoming.

I used to fight those phases thinking that I needed to be equally productive all the time, but that was before I trusted that life just cycles through seasons that have different qualities.

I guess getting a little older sometimes does make you a little wiser ;)

Plus, I took some time to travel with my husband and my kids and was really craving presence, simplicity and time away from my computer (which for me meant that I had client calls sitting by the lake instead of in front of my computer… it was heaven!).

One thing I took away from my quiet time this summer is this very clear intuitive feeling that I am not alone:

Most of us are feeling too full, too busy, too bombarded and we are collectively craving more simplicity, more ease, more joy!

I want to help you in creating and choosing a way of life that feels like that.

With that in mind, my message to you today is this:

Have you ever met someone who seems joyful, lighthearted, at ease with themselves? Do you then think to yourself how lucky this person is that they are like that?

But what if being a more joyful person was totally in your cards?

What if being joyful, light, at ease with yourself isn’t something that just happened to that person one day? But what if they had simply learned how to choose being like that early on?

The thing is that you attract more of what you feel! So, if you make clear choices to have more joy in your life, even more joy will come and find you.

Does that make sense?

Here are some journal questions to help you deepen into this message:

  1. Make a quick list of all the things that bring you joy.

  2. How can you choose joy over stress this week?

  3. What are you stressing about that you can just let go?

  4. What do you need to reframe to make space for joyfulness?

Sending you lots of love.

Warmly,

Caroline
